When do most people find themselves listening?
Pre Covid-19, Noa’s biggest audience were active while commuting to and from work. While many daily commutes have been disrupted or replaced, people’s listening activity has not.
Listeners on Noa can be found from the early hours of the morning to late into the night. It has proven to be the most convenient way for many people to catch up on the world’s biggest news topics. Whether it be as you go through your morning routine, take a 15-minute coffee break from work, go for a lunchtime stroll, take time for your daily exercise, prepare dinner in the evening, or before retiring for the night, Noa can seamlessly help you to fit quality journalism into your life.
Of course, we still have some people who enjoy listening while they commute :)
I am new to audio journalism, when is a good time to listen?
Welcome to Noa, we hope you enjoy the audio experience. As everyone is slightly different, we will all have our own preferences as to when it is a good time for us to listen. It is important for you to discover when and where works best for your own schedule.
One of the greatest benefits to Noa is how it allows you to engage with high quality journalism at a time when you would otherwise not be able to read. Be it while going through your morning routine, during your first 15 minute coffee break, performing chores around the house, driving from A to B, or even when doing some exercise. You can take Noa with you and never miss an opportunity to know more.
Why would someone choose to listen to Noa instead of the radio, podcasts, and/or audiobooks?
The team at Noa are avid audiophiles and advocates for all forms of spoken word. For this reason, we see value in listening to the radio, podcasts, and audiobooks. We do however feel that Noa offers something quite different to each of these.
While Noa does not break news, offer frequent daily bulletins, or provide instant opinion like the radio, it does offer deeper and more reflective analysis on topics of interest. The platform also gives you total control. You can select what Series and articles you want to listen to, what speed you want to play them at, and crucially, when you want to listen.
Noa may not provide the same entertainment value of podcasts, but it does offer a far more concise and time efficient experience. While a podcast can present a free-flowing conversation or debate between different hosts and guests, they tend to take a much longer time to get across their points. Many podcasts also sacrifice detailed analysis for greater dialogue between the show’s personalities.
This is where Noa differs. A half hour spent listening to a Series on Noa can bring you fully up to speed on a major topic of your interest. In this time, a narrative is built through numerous pieces that offer context and analysis, before several opinion pieces provide you with multiple perspectives.
Noa does not compete with audiobooks on the level of detail they provide on a given topic, but we do offer far more timely information. While you might have to wait months to years for an audiobook to be produced, Noa typically crafts a Series a couple of days after a major news event. We aim to ensure that you are given enough information and perspectives to confidently understand a story shortly after it occurs.
Empower yourself.
