Why Noa was created?
The team behind Noa has first-hand experience of the difficulties faced when trying to become and stay well informed on globally significant topics. Our struggles were not due to a lack of information, if anything, it was quite the opposite.
We realised that while we may all have abundant access to knowledge, opportunities to learn constantly pass us by. We found that it was far too easy to get overwhelmed by the fire hose of available information when we try to find out more about a topic. Then, there’s also the problem of deciphering who to trust. Making matters worse, many of us simply lack the time to do anything about this predicament.
It is because of this that we created Noa. We wanted to make it convenient for time-sensitive people to understand and know more about the news that matters, in minutes.
Who came up with the idea for Noa?
Noa’s co-founder and CEO, Gareth Hickey, experienced his own difficulties as he tried to stay informed on the world around him. Adamant that there must be an easier option to get through the articles he wanted to read, he set out to find that there wasn’t. This led him to establish Noa.
Where is Noa located?
While Noa’s team is spread across the globe, from the west coast of the USA to the heart of New Delhi, India, our headquarters is in Dublin, Ireland.

Noa’s Approach to Audio Journalism
What is slow journalism?
Slow journalism for Noa means allowing the initial dust to settle on breaking news, weighing up how important the topic is (based on our editorial principles), and waiting for high-quality feature, analysis, and opinion articles to be written before we begin narrating.
The benefit to you is that Noa acts as a source of quality news and information, not a firehose of noise like many news sites and social media platforms.
Are the articles read by real people?
Yes, we have a team of celebrated narrators who record the very best articles word-for-word (or ‘unabridged’ as we say in the spoken-word space).
Empower yourself.
